Holy Scriptures of the day:
Job 2:1-3:10
Gospel according to St. John 1:19-34

Daily Feast: St. Agatha-Virgin/Martyr of the early church.

Quick thought provoking questions:
-If Jesus instituted the Last Supper, why do some protestants not repeat His words of institution?
-If the Holy Eucharist is considered by St. Paul to be the proclamation of Christ's death, and we preach Christ crucified.....why don't some churches have it every Sunday or even more often?
-Why don't many churches practice the liturgy of the hours anymore?
-Why is justification so important?
-Why is the Son given dominion over Heaven and Earth?

Just some questions to think about :-).

Oh, and because I am so excited about Transfiguration Sunday........here's an icon :-).

Maybe they don't repeat Jesus' words of institution because they don't believe in the Real Presence?

Indeed that is true and the point I was alluding to. I think these questions would be good for any Christian Bible study or youth group to ask of their faith....it even helps for us Lutherans to reexamine our faith. I have found that some of the brightest of the High School kids at my church don't remember things from Confirmation like the Real Presence and what the Office of the Keys are....YIKES!
